Lewistown Tabernacle hosts camp meeting
The 113th Lewistown Valley Camp meeting will be held Aug. 28 to Sept. 7 from the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road, Tamaqua.
The event is open to all and will feature worship, song and fellowship.
Larry and Tamla Leckrone, of Leckrone Ministries of Norman, Indiana, will serve as the evangelist and song leaders.
The services begin at 7 p.m. on Aug. 28, 29 and 31, and Sept. 1 to 5; at 11 a.m. on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6; at 6 p.m. on Aug. 30, and Sept. 6 and 7. Sunday school will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6, followed by services with the Leckrones at 11 a.m. both days.
Missionary Night will be held at 7 p.m. on Sept. 3. The Pennsylvania Adult and Teen Challenge Women’s Choir will perform. The choir is from a faith-based treatment program that began in 1962 as a way to help young people and adults who struggle with addiction.
At 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 6, Brothers in Grace will perform. Based in south-central Pennsylvania, the group has ministered throughout the Mid-Atlantic, enlightening audiences with their unique southern gospel music and harmonies.
Sept. 7 is Labor Day and the closing day. It will begin with a praise service at 10:30 a.m. At 2:30 p.m., Mended Heart from Pine Grove will perform. The music is a blend of Southern country gospel, traditional, new and moderate contemporary. The Leckrones will hold the service at 6 p.m. Food will be available for purchase on Labor Day.
