Missing man found dead on game lands in Nesquehoning

A Nesquehoning man reported missing last Thursday was found dead Wednesday on state game lands.

The Carbon County Coroner’s office said the body of 44-year-old Stephen E. Willing was found at 4:51 p.m. Wednesday, in a wooded area of Pennsylvania State Game Lands near Gates of Heaven Cemetery on East Garibaldi Avenue.

He was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m. by Carbon County Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Leighton.

Willing was last seen on Thursday and had subsequently been reported missing by his family.

The death was investigated by the Carbon County Coroner’s Office in conjunction with the Nesquehoning Police Department and the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The Nesquehoning Fire Company also assisted at the scene.

The manner of death has been determined to be Suicide.

The Carbon County Coroner’s Office extends its sincerest condolences to Mr. Willing’s family and loved ones as they navigate this difficult loss.
