Monroe County crashes
State police at the Stroudsburg barracks reported the following crashes:
• Amanda M. Stewart, 37, of East Stroudsburg, had minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 4:45 p.m. Aug. 10 on Sawmill Road, Hamilton Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services to a local hospital.
They said she was driving a 2002 Toyota Tacoma northbound when it drifted onto the right shoulder of the road, struck a mailbox, traveled across both lanes onto the left shoulder and struck a dirt embankment. Police said the vehicle rotated counterclockwise and slid back into the northbound lanes. It was towed from the scene.
• Kimber L. Hirsch, 30, of Stroudsburg, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:52 a.m. Aug. 9 on Kroucher Road, Hamilton Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pocono Campus, East Stroudsburg.
They said she was driving a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound when it crossed both lanes, traveled onto the eastbound berm and struck a utility pole.
• Fabio D. Vitello, 33, of East Stroudsburg, had serious injuries in a motorcycle crash at 4:24 p.m. July 31 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.
Police said he was transported from the scene by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services.
They said the crash occurred when he was riding a 1997 Honda and William J. Fedigan, 58, of Auburn, New York, was operating a 2023 Mack Truck, both traveling north on Route 33.
Police said the Honda was traveling behind the Mack with an uninvolved vehicle in between the two vehicles, when traffic came to a sudden slowdown. Police said Fedigan failed to account for the uninvolved vehicle’s change of speed and swerved the motorcycle around to avoid a collision, turning the cycle onto its side. It slid and went underneath the Mack, hitting its trailer.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 11:33 p.m. July 12 on Interstate 80 in Stroud Township.
Police did not provide the details of the incident but said it involved a vehicle whose driver was not listed on the incident report and a vehicle operated by Athanasio H. Dimitriou, 60, of Saylorsburg, who had Dana L. Dimitriou, 58, also of Saylorsburg, as a passenger.
• Claudia P. Viland, 50, of Henryville, was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:35 p.m. July 29 on Route 611 in Hamilton Township.
Police said she was transported by personnel from the St. Luke’s Emergency and Transport Services to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Bartonsville.
They said the crash occurred at the entrance to the Giant Food Store Plaza and involved vehicles operated by Viland and Laura J. Kitts, 64, of Bartonsville. No other details of the crash were reported by police.
• Jailene Ramos, 28, of East Stroudsburg, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance after a motor vehicle crash on Route 33 in Hamilton Township, at 3:01 a.m. July 25.
Police said she was driving a 2011 Acura at the time. After the crash, she was transported to a St. Luke’s medical facility for a consensual blood draw.
