A commercial solar energy farm proposed for a former golf course in West Penn Township has been granted another extension.
Township supervisors, earlier this week, voted unanimously to grant Hole-In-One Solar Farm’s request for a 90-day extension. The new action date is now Oct. 22.
During May’s meeting, supervisors granted the solar farm an extension until July 22.
Board Chairman Tony Prudenti noted that the property along Golf Road measures 164 acres.
In January 2025, Solareit2-A-II LLC purchased the property from Yule Tree LP for about $1.96 million. It is the site of the former Villas Crossing Gold Course, which was sold to Yule Tree LP in 2017. In October 2020, fire ripped through the vacant clubhouse.
