Anthony Martinico, 24, of Tamaqua, was charged with disorderly conduct and harassment following a 1:06 a.m. on Aug. 2 bar fight.

Tamaqua police were dispatched to Mundy’s Pub for a fight in progress, and when officers arrived, they saw two men beginning to engage in a fight. Police subdued Martinico, who was challenging the other man.

Officers then interviewed witnesses who said Martinico was verbally fighting with several people, including a 70-year-old man. The man tried to get Martinico to calm down and leave, and when they exchanged words, witnesses said Martinico punched the man in the head three times.

Patrons chased Martinico outside, when Martinico phoned dispatchers to say he was being attacked.

Police said that instead of leaving the area, he stayed and continued to be verbally combative with patrons.
