A Stroudsburg man has been charged with assaulting another individual during a fight in Monroe County.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Zachary Andress of the Pennsylvania State Police — Fern Ridge barracks, in the case against Gunner Kyle Strausser:

At around 11:13 p.m. on June 4, PSP Fern Ridge was contacted by Cpl. Austin Anglemyer of the Pocono Township Police Department about an individual that arrived at Lehigh Valley Pocono Creek Hospital with serious injuries.

Trooper Frank Pawloski and Andress were dispatched to the hospital where they arrived at around 12:11 a.m. on June 5 and were directed to where the victim was located in a hospital bed with bandages wrapped around his head.

The victim told police that he went to the residence of Strausser, 30, along Strausser Lane, Jackson Township, to talk to an individual about him calling the victim’s girlfriend.

The victim said he approached the front of Strausser’s residence when he attempted to confront an individual and was told by Strausser to “take it outside.”

The victim related that he, the other individual, Strausser and another individual all went outside of the residence.

At that time, the other individual struck him first and knocked him to the ground, and that all three of them then began punching and kicking him while he was on the ground.

The victim suffered broken ribs, a broken jaw and a laceration that needed eight staples in the back of his head.

None of the arrestees were interviewed due to them avoiding the state police when contact was attempted to be made at Strausser’s residence.

Strausser faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment.

He was arraigned before District Judge Daniel Kresge of Bartonsville and is free under $50,000 unsecured bail. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Aug. 19 before Kresge.
