July 20, 1985 — Jeff Hausamann earns the pitching win and also belts a two-run homer as Northwestern defeats Lehighton 4-0 to clinch their Lehigh Valley Legion playoff series and advance to the finals. Hausamann tosses five innings and allows just three hits, three walk and no runs while striking out two. He also helps his own cause with his two-run blast in the fifth inning when Northwestern plates all four of its runs. Dave Bettler adds an RBI single that scores Larry Heintzleman, and Tim Robb reaches home on an error. Bettler finishes with a pair of hits for the winners.
