The Mahoning Valley Ambulance Association dedicated its new ambulance at its headquarters in the Mahoning Valley on Sunday.
The ambulance, the first new vehicle ever owned by the association, was placed into service following its arrival from the Mobile Medical Division of Decatur, Indiana.
The purchase was made when the association received a grant of $21,000 and a low-interest loan of $25,000 toward the final cost of $53,248.
The ambulance is set on a Ford chassis equipped with a 7.3-liter diesel engine and displays number 663 on its front fender. It replaces a 1974 Cadillac.
The association, which was formed in 1973 with 15 members, answered 96 calls in 1987.
