Fourteen hits and one enormous inning carried Jim Thorpe to a win over Towamensing on Friday in the Panther Valley 9-10 Little League Tournament.

A 10-run second inning propelled Jim Thorpe to a 15-5 victory over Towamensing in Panther Valley 9-10 Little League Tournament action.

Colton Chapman paced Jim Thorpe’s 14-hit attack by going 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Kaiden Calcano tripled and drove in three runs, while Eli Knopf and Liam Kattner each collected two hits and an RBI. Ben Swanson and Patrick Burdyn also knocked in runs for Jim Thorpe, which added two runs in the fourth to seal the win.

Towamensing scored all five of its runs in the third inning. Lukas Robertson delivered a two-run single, while Jaxson Jacoby and Bo Knepper each drew RBI walks.

Ben Swanson earned the win after allowing one hit while striking out four over two scoreless innings. Kattner tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief, striking out three.
