Northern Lehigh School District Superintendent Matthew J. Link has thanked the Northern Lehigh Educational Foundation for giving back to the school district.
Link said at the recent school board meeting that in the last year, the Northern Lehigh Educational Foundation has raised over $200,000, “which is a way to indirectly increase revenue and lower costs because all that money comes back to programs and projects in the school district.”
Link said once again this year, they are sponsoring two scholarships for high school seniors.
He said one scholarship is for a high school senior heading to college and who plans to pursue a career in education, and added eligible career paths include teaching, school counseling, speech language, pathology, school psychology, and other professional level roles serving pre-K to 12 students.
That is a $2,500 scholarship, Link said.
He said the second scholarship is for a senior who plans to attend a trade school or apprenticeship program in pursuit of careers in the skill trades, and added eligible career fields include but are not limited to welding, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, and automotive repair.
Link said, “This scholarship is intended to support students who are passionate about hands-on careers that are essential to our communities.”
