3 vehicles involved in Polk Twp. crash

Zachary J. Wilson, 22, of Brodheadsville, had minor injuries after a three-vehicle crash at 12:59 p.m. March 20 on Interchange Road, Polk Township, police said.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said that Wilson did not require an emergency medical services transport from the scene.

They said the crash occurred as John P. Bartolomeo, 72, of Albrightsville, was driving a 2011 Toyota Tundra when he attempted to enter the highway from a parking lot and entered the path of a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 driven northbound by Wilson.

The Ram hit the Tundra, and debris from both vehicles struck a southbound 2016 Toyota RAV4 driven by Sandra Kirgiz, 45, of Kunkletown, police said.

After the collision, the Ram continued and struck shrubbery.

Police said the Tundra and Ram had disabling damage, while the RAV4 had a broken windshield and flat tire.

Bartolomeo was cited after the crash, according to police.
