Carbon County Commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners conducted the following business during their recent meeting.

• Reappointed Susan Barradale of Albrightsville to a three-year term to the Mental Health/Development Services advisory board. The term ends March 31, 2029.

• Appointed Pearl Sheckler of Jim Thorpe to fill an unexpired term on the Redevelopment Authority. The term expires May 5, 2027.

• Approved an agreement with A&W Plumbing and Heating of Nesquehoning to replace two rooftop water heaters at the county correctional facility at a total cost of $39,800.

• Ratified a proposal from Trane US Inc. of Wilkes-Barre to replace a heat exchanger of rooftop unit 6 at the correctional facility at a total cost of $29,766.

• Approved a contract with Andrea L. Boswell of Malkin Court Reporting of Lansford establishing a per diem court reporting service rates for stenographic services for the court of common pleas.

• Approved a court interpreter services grant application for language access reimbursable costs totaling $19,585.19.

• Approved a proposal from Keystone Consulting Engineering of Kresgeville for services related to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Highway Occupancy Permit Plans for the existing county parking spaces adjacent to the train station at Hazard Square at an estimated cost of $18,000.

• Approved a professional services agreement with MCM Consulting Group Inc. of State College to update the Carbon County Mitigation Plan. The agreement will terminate on March 31, 2027, with cost not to exceed $59,486.

• Addendum to a memorandum of understanding between the county, Area Agency on Aging and the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley for reporting requirements for services related to the expansion of the community hub model into Carbon County and the activities related to the 2025 Moses Taylor Foundation Grant for the United Way.

• Amended an agreement with Palmetto Posting Inc. of South Carolina to extend the term of the rates to 2027 in order to comply with the Pennsylvania Real Estate Tax Sale law requirements.
