State police at Hazleton - crashes
State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following crashes:
• Easton M. Brevett, 40, of Kingston, and Edward M. Feiling, 36, of Weatherly, had suspected minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 5:23 a.m. March 6 at the intersection of Arthur Gardner Highway (Route 924) and Route 309 in Hazle Township.
They were transported by personnel from the Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS and McAdoo Fire Company Ambulance Association, respectively, to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton.
Police said the crash occurred as Brevett was driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger westbound when he drove over a concrete divider and lost control of the car, which was hit by an eastbound 2024 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Feiling.
Police said both vehicles had disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
Brevett was cited after the crash, according to police.
• Andrew M. Shellock, 25, of Weatherly, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:30 p.m. March 6 on Spring Mountain Road, Banks Township.
Police said he was driving a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta in an area where there was dense fog and failed to see a left curve in the road. The car left the west side of the rock and struck a rock embankment before overturning and coming to rest on its roof.
The car was towed from the scene.
• Peter J. Ivanina II, 30, of Tresckow, had minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 12:40 p.m. March 3 on Plane Street, Banks Township.
Police said he refused a medical services transport from the scene.
They said he was driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla eastbound when it left the roadway and hit several large rocks.
The car had disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:53 p.m. March 4 at the intersection of Hudson and Plane streets in Banks Township.
Police did not identify the drivers. They said the crash occurred as a 2024 Jeep Compass was southbound on Hudson Drive when the driver stopped to yield to traffic in an attempt to turn onto Plane Street.
They said a 2015 Ford F-250, traveling south on Hudson Drive behind the Compass, struck the Jeep, went off the right side of the road and hit a road sign and small tree, becoming stuck on is root system.
Police said both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
