Folks were invited to learn more about services designed to help them achieve financial stability and long-term economic mobility during a recent open house at the Tamaqua Financial Opportunity Center.

The 20 Mauch Chunk St. center provides free services including financial coaching; employment and career advancement and support; income growth strategies; digital skills development; and savings and asset-building initiatives.

The staff can also assist in improving credit ratings by correcting errors and helping to form relationships with financial institutions.

Center representatives were on hand, including Director Rich Stianche. A ribbon-cutting ceremony coincided with the open house.

The site will also serve as a new outreach location for Schuylkill Community Action. The staff will provide case management outreach services at the center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays to help connect area residents with programs, resources and support.
