State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Police responded to a hit-and-run around 7 p.m. March 4 on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township.

The said a 2020 GMC Acadia struck a stop sign at the intersection with Smith Road and continued to travel north on Route 903.

• David L. Snyder Jr., 44, of Palmerton, had minor injuries after a one-vehicle crash at 12:13 a.m. March 8 at the intersection of Forest Inn and Mill roads in Lower Towamensing Township.

Police said he did not require an emergency medical services transport from the scene.

They said he was driving a 2000 Dodge Neon south on Forest Inn Road and lost control on a right-hand curve.

The car traveled across the northbound land, off the road and hit a utility pole.

Police said Snyder left the scene before they arrived.

The car had disabling damage and was towed from the scene. The pole was not damaged.

Police said Snyder was cited for failure to provide immediate notice of an accident.
