Sgt. Andrew “AC” Macko has recently assumed the role and responsibilities as the game warden group supervisor in Luzerne, Carbon and Lackawanna counties.
Macko, who was assigned to Luzerne County upon graduating from the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s training school in 2022, began his new duties in January 2026.
A native of Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, Macko is a 2017 graduate of Tunkhannock Area High School and holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from King’s College.
Macko is a graduate of the Ross Leffler School of Conservation’s 33rd cadet class.
State game warden group supervisors are responsible for overseeing the administration of a wide variety of game commission programs within an assigned game warden group encompassing about 700 square miles across two or three counties. Macko will be the direct supervisor of district game wardens and deputy game wardens within their assigned group of Luzerne, Carbon and Lackawanna counties.
Primary duties include: supervision of the group’s law enforcement program; responding to wildlife conflicts; conservation education; and administration of the Hunter-Trapper Education program.
