Saint Peter’s United Methodist Church in Saylorsburg hosted a quilts and crafts event.
From intricate crocheted pieces to delicate hand-painted glassware, St. Peter’s UMC transformed into a holiday shopper’s paradise recently for its annual quilt and craft event.
The festive atmosphere complemented the colorful handmade quilts decorating the church in the bustling fellowship hall, which hosted more than a dozen local craft vendors.
Visitors had the chance to view a wide variety of goods, including wire-wrapped jewelry, handcrafted wooden boxes and botanical soaps.
Local children’s book author Deborah Niemoczynski had a meet and greet with her readers and event patrons. Her book “Raising Ruth” is based on a young girl’s upbringing on her parent’s Pennsylvania family farm.
But the main attraction was a silent auction featuring a stunning, king-size “disappearing blocks” quilt that had many guests eager to place a winning bid.
The event drew a steady stream of patrons throughout the day.
