Fall events
• Cornerstone Community Church fall harvest festival and trunk or treat, 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the church, 388 Polk Township Road, Kunkletown (Kresgeville). Games, crafts, face painting, inflatable VBS character relay race, free food, story walk more. Bring a donation for Operation Christmas Child and get a free bake sale item.
• Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1349 Green St., Lehighton, free family festival, 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Event includes trunk or treat, activities, games and food throughout the gymnasium and outdoors, pony rides, hay rides, pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, caramel apples, popcorn, bonfire, more. Register at lbclehighton.org.
Attractions
• The Electrifying Jack-O-Lantern Experience, a Halloween-themed festival at the West End Fairgrounds, features hand-carved pumpkins, food trucks, and fire pits. It is open Thursdays through Sundays now through Nov. 1 at the fairgrounds, 570 Fairground Road, Gilbert. Tickets online only: www.electrifyingjackolanterns.com.
• Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom Halloween Haunt runs through Nov. 2. This year’s Halloween Haunt features seven haunted mazes, five immersive scare zones, thrilling rides like Iron Menace and Steel Force under the stars, seasonal food and beverages, and live entertainment. Recommended for ages 13 and older, with bonus Sundays on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. Located at 3830 Dorney Park Road, Allentown.
• Blue Mountain’s Fright Time Zip & Climb will be held Friday and Saturday. Tickets and info: skibluemt.com/fright-zip-climb/.
Halloween parades
• The 30th annual Jim Thorpe Lions Club Halloween Parade will be held Saturday. The parade begins at 2 p.m. lineup starts at 1 p.m. at the Jim Thorpe High School. The rain date for the parade is Oct. 26. Call 570-325-4104 for more information.
• The Northern Lehigh Halloween Parade will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, parade route includes the Northern Lehigh campus and surrounding areas. Registration is open, text 484-619-0140 or email nlhalloweenparade@yahoo.com to have a registration form sent to you.
• Weatherly Area Community Chest’s annual Halloween Parade will be on Saturday. Registration starts at 1 p.m. at Tweedle Park on High Street. The parade begins at 2 p.m. Participants should not park in the area in front of the park. Rain date is Sunday. Questions should be directed to Mary Rose Minnick at 570-427-8865.
• Halloween Parade in Weissport at 4 p.m. Sunday. You can walk along. Or drive. No payment to enter, just candy to throw.
• Tamaqua Halloween Parade, 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Parade participants begin line up on the east end of the borough. The procession will travel on East Broad Street to West Broad Street. It will end in the area of West Broad and Swatara streets.
Halloween parties
• The Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St., is hosting a Halloween party from 5-6:30 p.m. on Friday.
The children’s event will have trick-or-treat fun, fresh popcorn, movie time, spooky fun activities and more. Children should come in their favorite costume. Visit the library or call 570-668-4660 to register.
• American Hose Co No. 1 Tamaqua, 7-11 p.m. on Saturday. Music by Roadhouse Lou (AK VIP DJ). Food available, costume contest (costume encouraged, but not required), cash bar. Open to the public.
Trunk or treats
• Polk Township Fire Company Trunk or Treat will be 6-8 p.m. Monday. Costumed kids and their families will go around collecting candy and treats.
• Kinsley’s Shoprite Spooktacular, 3-5 p.m. Sunday, arts and crafts, face painting, pony rides, treat bags, costume contest. 107 Kinsley Drive, Brodheadsville.
• Trunk or treat will be held this year at the Nesquehoning Recreation Center. It will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday.
• The Hometown Volunteer Fire Department will host a trunk or treat at 5 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the 45 Mahanoy Ave. (Route 54) station. Anyone wishing to participate with a vehicle should text 570-952-5383.
• Trunk or treat will be held at the park from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday in Rush Township. There will be prizes for the best decorated vehicle and pumpkin decorating for the kids. Sign up on the Township’s Facebook page or website if decorating a car.
• Dress up the kids and enjoy a safe, festive night of trick-or-treating at Heritage Hill Senior Community on Friday from 4:30-6 p.m. at 800 Sixth St., Weatherly. For more information, call Rachael at 570-427-4500 or email rtimm@heritagehillsenior.com.
• Penn Forest Trunk or treat will be held at the park from 1-3 p.m. Sunday. There will be prizes for the best decorated vehicle and pumpkin decorating for the kids. Sign up on the township Facebook page or website if decorating a car.
• Trunk or treat at the East Penn Township Community Center, 403 Blue Mountain Road. Ashfield, from 4-6 p.m. on Saturday. Residents are encouraged to set up in the parking lot; no registration required. The Community Center will be open to trick or treaters and offering free concessions and activities.
• Trick-or-treat night in Beaver Meadows will be held Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. throughout the borough.
The Beaver Meadows Citizens for Recreation will host a free Spooky Stroll through Harmony Hall during trick-or-treat hours, featuring a mad scientist, fortune teller, undertaker, and more.
At the same time, the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Over 60s Group will sponsor a trunk-or-treat event in the church parking lot on Second Street.

• Mahoning Valley Fire Company pre-trick-or-treat event, 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 31. Free hot dog, pierogie, cotton candy, popcorn and drink for costumed children under 13. Food available to purchase for adults. To host a trunk, call 610-554-9241.
• Lehighton Area Lionness Lions Club is hosting a trunk or treat from 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Lehighton Boys and Girls Band Hall. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held indoors. After checking out each trunk, children can venture inside for a free hot dog and beverage.
