Lehighton, Franklin and Mahoning township police responded to a shooting Tuesday evening in Lehighton.

The incident began around 6 p.m. when neighbors of the 300 block of South Second street reported a man with a gun pacing the area.

The man was seen pacing back and forth on his porch for a period of time.

He then began to wander the immediate area until he found a grass area along Summit Avenue and fired shots towards the LHH Learn and Play Childcare or the immediate area.

He was taken into custody by police. No injuries were reported in the incident.
