Two people escaped serious injury Monday afternoon in a crash in Franklin Township.

The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. when the pair were traveling north on Route 209 and a sport utility vehicle attempted to pass but cut them short.

The pickup swerved to the right entering the driveway of Dematte Chiropractics, going airborne over a stone sign.

The truck came to rest on its side. The victims were evaluating at the scene by Lehighton paramedics. The Franklin township fire company responded assisting at the scene and fire police maintained traffic control at the site. Franklin township police are investigating the incident.
