LVHN Health Care Partner of the Month
Jocelyn Masotti, PA-C
Specialty: Pediatrics
Location: LVPG Pediatrics–Lehighton, 363 N. First St., Lehighton
Philosophy of Care: In her role as a pediatric clinician, Jocelyn Masotti, PA-C, draws from her education and experience as a parent. She encourages parents to ask questions without hesitation. “No question is silly when you’re concerned about your child’s well-being,” Masotti says.
She understands a pediatric office can be an intimidating place for young children, so she makes every attempt to make them feel at ease by engaging with them at their level. “I try to make the patient feel as comfortable as possible,” Masotti says.
That same type of care is continued with older kids. For teenagers, she provides them with a safe space to feel comfortable expressing themselves as she helps them navigate the changes adolescence brings.
Services offered: Masotti offers well- and sick-visits, immunizations, sports physicals and mandated medical examinations. As a pediatric physician assistant, she sees children from infants to 18-year-olds.
Conditions treated: She is skilled in treating a variety of conditions that include asthma, viruses, growth problems, infection and allergic rhinitis.
Why she choose medicine as a career: Masotti had a budding interest in science when a bout with pneumonia turned into asthma while she was in high school. Though her medical conditions were challenging, they kindled her intrigue with medicine. “So, I put those two interests together and decided to use both to help people,” Masotti says.
She steered herself into pediatric care due to her love for children and her appreciation for the enthusiasm they bring to the world.
About Jocelyn Masotti: Masotti was a talented high school and college field hockey player. Among her many awards, she was inducted into both the Pleasant Valley High School and Lebanon Valley College Hall of Fame, and was a four-time All-American college field hockey player.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
