Nemeth named to PSAC softball team

Marian graduate Mia Nemeth has had an outstanding senior season with the Bloomsburg University softball team and recently received All-PSAC East honors.

Nemeth was named to the Second Team. This is the first time the former Fillie has been selected to the PSAC squad.

The outfielder for the Huskies has had a breakout season offensively, raising her batting average over 100 points this season. She has started all 50 of Bloomsburg’s games this season and hit .381 (61-for-160), the second highest average on the team.

Nemeth has 18 extra-base hits, including 11 doubles, three triples and four home runs. She’s knocked in 44 runs, which is more than what she had in her previous three years combined. Nemeth also has 34 runs scored and 12 walks, giving her a .416 on-base percentage, a .563 slugging percentage and a .979 OPS.

She’s helped her team post a 31-19 record.

While the Huskies were defeated in the PSAC playoffs, falling to Shepherd, they have qualified for the NCAA Division 2 playoffs. Bloomsburg will get a shot at revenge against Shepherd, as it will face the Rams again Thursday afternoon at Kutztown.
