Schuylkill commissioners OK contracts
Schuylkill County commissioners approved a number of contracts during a public meeting Wednesday.
For the 911 Communications Center, they approved a contract with Green’s Communications of Pottsville for maintenance of the net clock time synchronization.
The cost of the agreement is $4,200; the contract runs from Nov. 1 through Oct. 31, 2024.
They also approved a software and support agreement with Infor Emergency Systems of Tampa, Florida, for the 24X7 365 system.
The agreement cost $60,485.11, and runs from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2024.
A third contract is with Motorola Solutions of Chicago, Illinois, for the following services: TDMA upgrade to add system capacity; a new communication site for improved system coverage; an AIS/Server equipment and installation, and NG IP Eventide logging recorder, equipment, and installation; and 18 APX, 8000 subscriber portable radios.
The pricing is all through a state contract. The agreement is for nine years, with the first payment on June 1, 2025 in the amount of $722,766.79 per year, the last yearly payment is due June 1, 2033.
Also, on Wednesday, commissioners agreed to the following contracts.
• Approved a contract for $24,940 to G&R Excavating and Demolition for a Community Development Block Grant demolition project at 28-30 South St., Minersville.
• Approved a $28,714 contract with McClure Company to replace 72 boiler tubes in the triad boiler at the courthouse. The contract runs from Dec. 7 through April 30, 2024. McClure was hired through a state Costars purchasing program.
• Amend a lease agreement between the county and Matt Direnzo to lease additional office space on N. Center St., Pottsville. The monthly release rate is increased to $2,675 up from $2,250.
The amended lease begins Jan. 1 and expires on Dec. 31, 2025. The number of parking spaces also is increased to five from four.
Also on Wednesday, commissioners agreed to seek bidders for the printing and mailing of election ballots on a four-year contract from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027 for the primary and general elections. Bids must be submitted by Tuesday, Jan. 2. The bid opening will take place at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3 in the commissioners’ boardroom. The tentative award date will be Jan. 10.
