Carbon County guilty pleas
The following guilty pleas were entered in front of Judge Joseph J. Matika in Carbon County Court:
Crystal Biles, 43, no address given, was charged by Weatherly Police Officer Christopher L. Belles with two counts of defiant trespass on May 3.
She admitted to one count; the other was dropped.
Judge Matika ordered her to pay court costs, a $100 LiveScan fee; a $50 monthly supervision fee; serve one year on probation; obtain a mental health evaluation; render 50 hours of community service, and to stay off the Dollar general property in Weatherly.
Alan James Arthofer, 33, of Bowmanstown, was charged by Lehighton State Trooper Katherine V. Franck with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, second offense; driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Schedule 1 drug, second offense; speeding; careless driving; reckless driving’; possession of a small amount of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia on June 25, 2021.
He admitted to the paraphernalia charge; the remaining charges were dropped.
Judge Matika ordered him to pay court costs, a $100 LiveScan fee; a $50 monthly supervision fee; serve one year on probation, to be served at he same time as his punishment in another case; and render 50 hours of community service.
Dawn Marie Williams, 46, of Lehighton, was charged by Franklin Township Police Officer David M. Roberts with making false reports and disorderly conduct on March 19, 2023.
Judge Matika ordered her to pay court costs, a $100 LiveScan fee; a $50 monthly supervision fee; serve one year on probation; obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.
Sarah May Riddle, 30, of Newburn, North Carolina, was charged by Lehighton State Trooper Charles P. Inserra with driving under the influence, general impairment; DUI, incapable of driving safely; disregarding traffic lanes; speeding, and careless driving on June 24, 2022.
She admitted to the disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving charges; the remaining ones were dropped.
Judge Matika fined her $25 on each charge.
Travis M. Murphy, 31, of Allentown, was charged by Palmerton Police Officer Kevin K. Buck with theft; two counts of receiving stolen property; retail theft; and theft of services on March 13.
He admitted to one count of theft and retail theft; the remaining charges were dropped.
On the retail theft charge, Judge Matika ordered him to pay court costs, a $100 LiveScan fee; a $50 monthly supervision fee; pay $104 in restitution to Family Dollar; serve one year on probation; obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation, and render 50 hours of community service.
On the theft charge, Judge Matika ordered him to repay $198.56 to the 110 Tavern, and imposed the same sentence as the retail theft charge.
Todd A. Laudenbach, 50, of Wind Gap, was charged by Lehighton State Trooper Ryan T. Brands with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on April 8, 2021.
He admitted to the paraphernalia charge.
Judge Matika ordered him to pay court costs, a $100 LiveScan fee; a $50 monthly supervision fee; serve one year on probation; obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation, and render 50 hours of community service.
Samuel Goodwin, 50, of Easton, was charged by Franklin Township Police Officer David M. Roberts with making a false statement concerning firearms; and two counts of unsworn falsification to authorities on June 1, 2020.
He admitted to one of the unsworn falsification charges. The remaining charges were dropped.
Judge Matika ordered him to pay court costs, a $100 LiveScan fee; a $50 monthly supervision fee; serve six months on probation; and render 25 hours of community service.
Stacy Marie Fritz, 48, of Coaldale, was charged by Lehighton State Trooper Katherine V. Franck with DUI of a controlled substance, impaired ability, first offense; DUI of a controlled substance, Schedule 2 or 3 drug, first offense; and driving while her license was suspended or revoked on May 6, 2021.
She admitted to the license charge; the remaining charges were dropped.
Judge Matika fined her $200; and ordered her to pay court costs and a $100 LiveScan fee.
