The Great Allentown Fair will be Sept. 2 through Sept. 7 in the Allentown Fairgrounds, bounded by 17th, Chew and Liberty streets, west end Allentown.

On the Service Electric Grandstand Stage: The Four Tops with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Diane Witty, music director and conductor, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2; “Stars, Stripes & Slams” professional wrestling, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3; Warren Zeiders, 7 p.m. Sept. 4; All Time Low, 7 p.m. Sept. 5; Local Legends: The Aardvarks, Social Call, Common Bond, Stereotype, Strange Culture, Scott Marshall & The Highway Souls, 2 p.m. Sept. 6; and J&J Demolition Derby, 5 p.m. Sept. 7.

The Allentown Fair was founded in 1852. Give or take a few years for world wars and the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2026 fair marks the 174th anniversary.

Legendary Motown icons The Four Tops will take the stage with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra for an opening night performance.

The Four Tops is commemorating an extraordinary milestone this year: 70 years of timeless music and unforgettable performances.

“The Great Allentown Fair has always been about bringing exceptional entertainment to our community, and this performance is truly something special,” said Jessica Ciecwisz, the fair’s marketing and entertainment manager.

“The combination of The Four Tops’ legendary catalog and the artistry of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra will create an unforgettable evening for music lovers of all generations,” Ciecwisz said in a press release from the fair.

At this year’s Allentown Fair, the Powers & Thomas Midway has rides for all ages. Ride wristbands and tickets are available for purchase on the Carnival Midway. Advance ride wristbands are available at the fair box office through Sept. 1.

The Fair Queen Contest is held opening night, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 2, Astound Broadband Farmerama Theater.

The “Hometown Hero Award,” recognizing a service member or veteran, is to be presented 2:30 p.m. Sept. 6, Farmerama Theater.

Fair attendees can again vote for the “Best New Fair Food.”

The third annual “Scrapple-Eating Contest” is 3 p.m. Sept. 5, Farmerama Theater.

The second annual “Mullet Contest” is 6 p.m. Sept. 5, Farmerama Theater.

Contests, with on-site registration, include: “Animal Mardi-Gras,” “Barnyard Olympics,” “Draw Your Own Picture Contest,” “En Plein Air Sketching Contest,” “Hay Bale Throwing Contest,” “Mother-Daughter, Father-Son Look-Alike Contest,” “Play Doh Sculpting Contest” and “Patriotic White Pumpkin Decorating Contest.”

In the Agri-Land area, activities include “Lil’ Farm Hands,” “4-H Livestock Experience” and the “Judging Tent.”

In the Agri-Plex are Competitive Exhibits and on the Centennial Stage, the “Farm to Table Cooking Series,” “Iron Chef Competition” and ”Grain to Glass.”

The Great Allentown Fair is partnering with Adventures Made 4 U, creator of personalized children’s e-books, to offer free custom storybooks to young fairgoers.

A red, white and blue quilt will be auctioned at 7 p.m. Sept. 4, Farmerama Theater, as part of the fair’s “America250” celebration.

The price of admission to the fair includes free entertainment: “Butterfly Kingdom,” “Harvest Patio Stage,” “Rock ‘N Circus,” “Hog Diggity Dog & More,” “Camp Capybara,” “Steve Goodtime,” “Robinson’s Pig Paddling Porkers,” “The Cup Guy,” “Moodonna, Allentown Fair Mascot” and “Kris Clayton, Juggling Stilt-Walker.”

Also, on the Farmerama stage: Godfrey Daniels At 50, The Jubilee Continues, Grape Stomp Contest, Aqua String Band Mummers, and Richie And The High Street Rockers.

At Agri-Plex Square Sponsored by Service Electric and PenTeleData, performers include Scott’s Magic U.S.A., Gypsy and The Moonshiners, Swingtime Dolls, Dan & Galla, Craig Thatcher Quintet, Adeline Csontos, and Robbie Lawrence and The Steel Workers Senior Day Celebration.

Music at Weyerbacher Biergarten includes TMT Classic Rock, Life After Dead, Pure Petty Band, Reservoir Hill and Mark Fahad, Galena Brass Band and Brian Kibler.
