Music and community will come together Thursday when Stained Glass Road performs as part of the Tamaqua Community Concert series.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Tamaqua Railroad Station and is open to the public.

Stained Glass Road is led by Jennifer K. Eckhart, pastor and worship ministries director at Blue Mountain Community Church in Palmerton. Eckhart is a singer, songwriter and musician whose music blends contemporary Christian, gospel and worship influences. She and the band have performed throughout the region, sharing original music as well as songs designed to encourage and inspire listeners.

Stained Glass Road’s album “Faithful” features 12 original tracks, including “Faithful,” “Wounded,” “Holy is Your Name” and “Glory Hallelujah.” The band’s music reflects Eckhart’s desire to use music to tell stories of faith, hope, healing and God’s faithfulness.

The band also recently released a music video for “Wounded,” a song Eckhart wrote about people facing difficult circumstances and the hope of restoration. Musicians performing with Eckhart have included members from throughout the region, including Tamaqua and surrounding communities.

Concertgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of music at the historic train station.

In case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to Trinity UCC, at the corner of Lafayette and Washington streets in Tamaqua.

The concert is being sponsored by the Tamaqua Area Ministerial Association and the Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network.
