The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for freezing rain, sleet and snow. It is in effect from 6 this evening until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

There is the potential for 3 to 7 inches of snow and up to one quarter inch of ice.

Freezing rain is forecast to move into the region this evening. The precipitation is expected to transition to sleet from late tonight into Monday morning before changing to all snow for Monday into Monday night.

The ice and snow will make travel difficult in the region from Sunday night through Monday night.

Temperatures will be mainly in the 20s from Sunday night into Monday night.
