Summer reading programs at the Palmerton Area Library will continue through the end of July. Preschool Circle Time is held on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. upstairs in the gallery for children ages 3-5. The children enjoy stories, songs and rhythm instruments.

On Fridays at 10:30 a.m., Summer Reading Club is for kids in grades kindergarten through grade 6. The younger kids enjoy puppet shows, stories and crafts. The older students have been learning about heroes in our community with special visitors and games. All programs are free and open to the public.The Book Chain contest will continue until Sept. 1. Sign up now and add a link to our chain for every book you read this summer. This contest is for everyone from preschoolers to adults. Prizes will be awarded in each age group at the end of the summer. B104 is once again giving away an iPad to one lucky reader.The fourth annual Palmerton Area Library Golf Tournament will be held at the Mahoning Valley Country Club on Aug. 21, with an 8 a.m. registration and a 9 a.m. shotgun start. There will be lots of prizes and a barbecue lunch buffet afterward. Get a team together and join us for this fun event.Registration forms are available at the library or on the website at

Call the library to get your name on the waiting list. Class size is limited, so call now.Preschool Story hour will resume on September. The library story hour is held every Friday during the school year at 10:30 a.m. This program is free and open to all. No registration is necessary.The library board of directors meets on the third Wednesday of each month at the library at 4 p.m. These meetings are open to the public.The library is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. During the months of July and August the library is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.Check out the library website at
