Heavy rain Monday night; showers possible today

The National Weather Service says isolated rain showers could

develop in the area this afternoon. Any showers that do occur should be

relatively brief in duration and light in intensity.

Heavy rainfall from showers and thunderstorms is possible Monday

night and Tuesday. This may result in some localized poor drainage flooding.

The forecast:

Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Light southeast wind.

Monday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday Night: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Low around 67. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms before 8am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 8am and 2pm, then showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. High near 77. South wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a chance of showers between 8pm and 1am. Low around 62. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 74.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 55.
