Brewsky lovers living in and around West Penn now have the option to shop local as business partners Colby McHugh and his father, Richard McHugh have recently opened a new beer distributor in West Penn called McHugh's Brews Inc.

Their new business is located across the street from the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home in Snyders and occupies the old Kemmerer's Store, which closed in the 1980's.After realizing the need for a local beer distributor in West Penn, both father and son, who live in New Ringgold, spent many months transforming and remodeling the old building into a welcoming place of business for all beer lovers.In addition to a large variety of popular import and domestic beers, they also offer snacks, ice and other items.The McHugh's added a cement room to the back of the building to house a new walk-in cooler. "We suit the customers' needs and give customers what they want," stressed Colby, a 2005 Tamaqua graduate and business management graduate of the California University of Pennsylvania."Finally, a local beer distributor that is open on a Sunday," said customer Robert Brode of New Ringgold, pointing out the closest beer distributors are located in Tamaqua, New Tripoli, Lehighton and Schuylkill Haven.Richard mentioned that they planned on having occassional giveaways, samplings and promotions over the next few months to atttract more customers. Their business is located at 2067 West Penn Pike, Suite 1, and phone number is (570) 818-4444.Business hours are Monday to Thursday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
