A Coaldale man who torched another man’s Jeep in the borough on Aug. 28, 2021 will serve two years’ probation.

Ralph Vazquez, 43, was charged by borough police Officer Frederick J. Lahovski Jr. on Aug. 28, 2021, with reckless burning or exploding and risking a catastrophe, both felonies, and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

He admitted to the disorderly conduct and criminal mischief charges. The felony charges were dropped.

Schuylkill County Judge Christina E. Hale sentenced Vazquez to two years of probation, and to pay a $50 monthly supervision fee. He also was ordered to pay $250 to have a DNA sample taken; have mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and follow through with any recommended treatment.

Khalid Shahe Holland, 21, of Tamaqua, was charged by West Penn Township Police officer Michael E. Leighton on July 10, 2021, with two counts of simple assault, harassment, all misdemeanors, and a felony charge of aggravated assault.

He pleaded guilty to simple assault, with the remaining charges being dropped.

Hale sentenced Holland to 18 months of probation, and to pay a $50 monthly supervision fee. He also was ordered to pay $250 to have a DNA sample taken; have mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and follow through with any recommended treatment.

In a separate case, Holland was charged by Frackville state Trooper Sean F. Elenchin, on Sept. 7, 2020, with terroristic threats, harassment - lewd/threatening language, and harassment - physical contact.

He pleaded guilty to making terroristic threats. Hale sentenced him to 24 months of probation, with the same conditions.

Jason Christopher Wiersma, 44, of Tamaqua, was charged by borough police officer Angel Abreu on Aug. 29, 2021, with defiant trespass, public drunkenness, harassment, and disorderly conduct.

He pleaded guilty to defiant trespass and harassment.

Hale sentenced Wiersma to six months of probation on the trespass charge, and to pay a $50 monthly supervision fee. He also was ordered to pay $250 to have a DNA sample taken; have mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and follow through with any recommended treatment.

Hale also sentenced him to an additional six months on the harassment charge, to be served after the trespass punishment.

Megan Jean Miller, 33, of New Tripoli, was charged by West Penn Township Police officer James E. Bonner on March 1, 2021, with felony counts of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, and retail theft, a misdemeanor.

She pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.

Hale sentenced Miller to two years of probation, and to pay a $50 monthly supervision fee. She also was ordered to pay $250 to have a DNA sample taken; have mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations and follow through with any recommended treatment.

Hale also sentenced Miller to an additional six months on the harassment charge, to be served after the trespass punishment.
