Carbon County court — ARD

Ten people in pending driving under the influence cases were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program last week by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program, their record will be wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete it, or are revoked from it, then they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

Placed were the following:

All were placed for a year.

Robert Raymon Baker III, 18, of Palmerton, was arrested on Aug. 22, 2021, by state police at Lehighton along Walnut Drive in Lower Towamensing Township. A test revealed a 0.14 BAC.

He was assessed $500 for the cost of the program and his license was suspended for 90 days.

Eric A. Johnson, 37, of Kunkletown, was arrested Aug. 9, 2021, along Koch Road in Towamensing Township for DUI of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Joelle Jordan Killough, 21, of Pocono Lake, was arrested on July 31, 2021, by state police at Lehighton along Route 248 in Franklin Township. A test revealed a 0.16 BAC.

She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 90 days.

Gregory James Derr,Emily Catherine Hockman, 23, of White Haven, was arrested on Sept. 7, 2021, by Jim Thorpe police along Route 903 following a crash.

She was assessed $550 and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Shanell Veronica Richards,Charles A. Snyder, 47, of Palmerton, was arrested on May 21, 2021, by state police at Lehighton along Cherry Hill Road in Lower Towamensing Township. A test revealed a 0.14 BAC.

He was assessed $500 and his license was suspended for 30 days.

Frank T. Thorne,Francis Michael Barnasevitch,Susan D. Schwentner, 59, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on May 7, 2021, by Franklin Township police along Route 248. A test revealed a 0.21 BAC.

She was assessed $650 and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of over $1,000, a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program and follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
