Defendant in drug-dealing ring sent to state prison

One of six defendants in a drug-dealing ring was sentenced to a state prison term on Thursday in Carbon County court.

Jesse Lincovich, 40, who lists his address as the county prison, was sentenced by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II to serve 27 to 60 months in a state correctional institution of a charges of corrupt organization, a felony 1; and criminal conspiracy - possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, a felony. The terms run concurrently. He previously pleaded to the charges.

Lincovich was arrested on Jan. 1, 2019, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug dealing in the area.

Others charged with Lincovich were Joe Forster, Allison Sanders, Chris Felker, Brian Kehl and Chris Keer Jr.

The yearlong investigation involved narcotic agents from the state Attorney General’s Office in Allentown, as well as Lehighton and Summit Hill police departments. Search warrants were obtained, which led to the arrests. Lincovich was arrested following a vehicle stop in Tamaqua.

Lincovich said he was part of the ring so he could get drugs to feed his own habit. He told the court, “I’m getting too old for this.”

Deputy Attorney General Christie F. Bonesch said the commonwealth believes Lincovich was a minor player in the organization and that he did cooperate with authorities.

The cases involving the other defendants are pending.

Lincovich was also ordered to get both drug and alcohol and mental health evaluations and follow any recommendations for treatment.

He was given credit for 155 days already served.

His defense counsel, court-appoint attorney Joseph V. Sebelin Jr., said his client is challenging the credit time. Nanovic said Sebelin can file a motion if he finds more credit is due and a hearing would be held by the court.
