Carbon County court
A Carbon County man admitted stealing money from his grandmother on Monday in Carbon County court.
He was one of 10 defendants in pending criminal cases to enter a guilty plea before President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.
Summit Hill arrest
John Jasinsky Jr., 30, of Summit Hill, was arrested by borough police after they received a complaint from his grandmother that he withdrew funds from her checking account without her knowledge or permission.
After the police report was read into the record, Jasinsky was asked by Nanovic if the report was accurate, the defendant then claimed he was given permission to withdraw funds to pay his grandmother’s bills.
Nanovic then said he had to admit to the facts as presented or the court couldn’t accept his plea of guilty. Jasinsky then said he accepted the facts.
Nanovic placed him on probation for two years and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation, supply a DNA sample and make restitution to his grandmother for $1,839.51.
