Lehigh Fire Company No. 1 has donated money to area organizations.

The Mahoning Valley Fire Department, Franklin Township Fire Department, Parryville Fire Department, East Penn Township Fire Deparment and Lehighton Fire Police have received cash donations of $2,000.Other groups also received donations up to $2,000.The library will use funds for recondition, re-padding and restoring chairs to be done by a local furniture maker; a digital fax board add-on that allows fax sending, digital management of copies and scanning; replacing worn countertop with access slots for electronic devices; and supply two fire extinguishers.The Lehighton Band will use funds as reimbursement for existing heating oil and purchasing various sheet music.The Boy's and Girl's Band will use the funds to refurbish instruments.The UVO/AMVETS will use the funds toward a new sound system for outdoor events and a new generator for a sound system for remote locations.The Lehighton 150th Anniversary Committee will use the donation to offset decoration and flag costs.
