Ross Township to resume events, reopen restrooms
Ross Township supervisors voted to resume its summer concerts in the park, host Community Day and reopen the public restrooms.
Last year, the pandemic shut everything down.
But now with vaccinations and precautions such as social distancing, it is safe to resume these activities, the supervisors said Monday during their monthly meeting.
The summer concert series will be held the second Sunday of July, August and September.
The September concert will tie in with Community Day on Sept. 11.
“I think it will be a great day,” Supervisor James Zahoroiko said.
The event will include local organizations, craft vendors, food, emergency services personnel and music. The time of the event is to be determined.
“I really like this event because it gets people out and it’s a chance to showcase community organizations,” Chairwoman Tina Drake said.
The public restrooms will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
Drake recommended that only one person, or a parent and child, go inside at a time to maintain social distancing. The bathrooms will be cleaned weekly.
