Carbon County commissioners

The Carbon County Commissioners, on Thursday, discussed or approved on the following items:

• Reminded voters about mail-in ballot applications and referendum voting in the upcoming election.

Commissioner Rocky Ahner said that everyone who asks for a mail-in ballot will receive a ballot on referendum questions. Republican and Democrat party voters will receive a candidate and referendum ballot, while all other parties will receive a referendum ballot only in the primary.

Completed mail-in ballot applications or cancellation forms can be returned to the county election office, which is located temporarily at 410 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe. Applications can be mailed to Carbon County Bureau of Elections, 76 Susquehanna St., P.O. Box 170, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229.

Two weeks ago, Lisa Dart, elections director, said that voters who checked the box for permanent mail-in applications should either fill out the form or sign and return the cancellation form because she would like to have a signature on file.

• Approved a proclamation naming March 14-20 as 4-H Week in Carbon County.
