Two wanted in attempted homicide case are arrested

Two people wanted for attempted homicide and related counts for a home-invasion incident in Schuylkill County were nabbed by police in Lehigh County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Cassandra L. "CC" Carter, 26, of Saint Clair, and Brian J. "Blue" O'Doherty, 31, no known address, were arrested by state police at Bethlehem at 1:45 p.m. Saturday as they left a Super 8 motel at 1033 Airport Road, in Allentown.They were then taken before on-call District Judge Christian Hale of Frackville on charges of criminal attempt-homicide, aggravated and simple assault, burglary and criminal trespass.Bail was set at $500,000 straight cash for both. They could not post the bail and were committed to the county prison in Pottsville. A third suspect, a male, is also being sought.Troopers said the incident began about 6:30 a.m. on Friday as three people arrived at 288 Main St. in Tremont, Porter Township. They forcibly entered the home, which was occupied by Andrew Weaber and Courtney Lynn.Carter was holding a revolver and struck Lynn in the face and then began punching her. O'Doherty was carrying a handgun and shot Weaber in the leg. The three suspects then fled the scene in a late model Ford F150 pickup.Weaber was taken to the Hershey Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition. Lynn refused medical treatment, troopers said.Troopers are still looking for the third suspect and ask anyone with information concerning the incident to call them at 570-739-1330.
