In other business, Lehighton borough council:
• Approved the Blanski Energy Management proposal for the HVAC maintenance agreement for the annex that should save the borough anywhere between $10,000 to $15,000 per year.
• Approved a request from H&K Group for use of the former sewer plant land Route 443 project staging area.
• Approved a request from Jim Thorpe Borough to contract for street sweeping.
• Declined a request from Kovatch to pay for the Light & Power truck chassis before delivery of vehicle.
• Accepted the resignations of Paul Wallace and Hilbert Haas as crossing guards. In conjunction with their resignations, council emphasized it has crossing guard openings to fill.
• Denied a request from a resident regarding their garbage bill.
• Ratified all items updated in the COVID-19 Action Plan.
• Adopted a resolution declaring a snow emergency on Jan. 31.
