Catholic Schools Week ended in a big way Friday with the announcement of a $200,000 scholarship program established in memory of the late Paul G. Nester Jr. by his father and the Nester family.

Marian Catholic High School and St. Jerome’s Parochial School, Tamaqua, will be the beneficiaries of the contributions.

Paul Nester Sr. was a 1957 graduate of Marian and a member of the school’s advisory board, national alumni board and was active in many other Marian organizations.

The Marian donation will be used as a scholarship fund while the St. Jerome’s money will go toward financial assistance.
