Dr. John J. Evans of Nesquehoning, who recently was named to assist Dr. Joel Nass, acting chief surgeon at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, was given immediate medical staff privileges in major surgery.

The board also elected Mayor James Beisel of Lehighton, as its president. His associates are George Trexler, first vice president; Mark Trainer, second vice president; Frank Eisenhard, secretary; and James Whitehead, treasurer.
