A subsidence covering an area from Broad to Third Streets and Church to New Streets did considerable damage at 11:40 p.m. today in Beaver Meadows. It is believed 20 to 30 homes are in the subsidence area.

Persons in the borough said earth tremor sounded similar to a hail storm and it was only after examining their homes that the subsidence was realized. Colonial type posts on the property of Anna Yackanicz, 45 East Broad St., were slanted by the underground movement.
