Kindergarten registration in the Jim Thorpe Area School District for the 2016-2017 school year will be held in March for the L.B. Morris and Penn-Kidder buildings. The district offers a full-day kindergarten experience for its students.

Registration for L.B. Morris will be heldMarch 14 andMarch 15. Registration for the Penn-Kidder Campus will be heldMarch 16 andMarch 17.Children must be 5 by Sept. 1, 2016, to be eligible for kindergarten registration. Parents should call the appropriate school office as registration is by appointment only. A parent or legal guardian of the child must attend. Registration paperwork will not be accepted from other family members.When attending registration, the parent should have a state-issued birth certificate or other acceptable proof of name and age of child, along with immunization records for the child enrolling, two types of proof of residency and any custody agreement paperwork as well.Parents are asked not to bring their child to this registration. An appointment for a prescreening assessment will be scheduled at the time of registration. Also, a special kindergarten orientation day is planned for August where the students will meet the teachers and tour the school.Any questions regarding kindergarten registration should be directed to L.B.
