Penn Forest Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 will be getting a new rescue truck. The $379,710.49 purchase was approved at the September supervisors meeting.

The new rescue truck is fully paid for by Penn Forest Township.

This truck has equipment that allows drivers with lesser certifications to use the vehicle, which expands the ability of firefighters to drive the truck.

Also approved was the additional cost of $700 to purchase “Special Event Ahead” signs.

A wireless microphone, battery bank and carrying case were approved for the social media intern, costing $308.95.

Parts for the Kubota and 2017 Ford Interceptor were also approved for purchase. Sealmaster will patch potholes for $1,694.

Tyler Michael was hired as a codes enforcement /zoning officer at a salary of $28.76 per hour. Supervisors approved purchasing a 13-inch iPad for $899.99, a phone plan for $76.98 monthly and an Otter Box for $34.98 for this position.

The road paving change order for 4-inch base repair on Smith Road was ratified at a cost of $101,626.20.

Dollar General on Route 534 had a final escrow and bond of $8,113.22 and release of $4,400 was approved.

Eight security cameras will be purchased for the township building, each costing $300.00.

No action was taken on the agenda item of discussing the trail construction.

Possible dates for the 2027 budget meeting are Oct. 7, 14, 21 or 28.
