Donations of new, unwrapped toys to help local families make their Christmas brighter are being sought as part of a toy drive for Palmerton and surrounding area.
The second annual Toy Drive in Palmerton is being sponsored by the Christian Action Council of Palmerton Area Churches, according to Susie Arner, event co-chairwoman.
Arner said bins are out at many businesses, such as Family Dollar, local banks, Joey B’s, One Ten Tavern, West End Saloon, Watch Me Grow Day Care and others.
“We are happy to report too that even though there will not be a formal Christmas in the park for Palmerton where many brought toys to donate to the toy drive and also donations of food for the food pantry, Palmerton’s newest business, Off The Charts Music School, has graciously accepted a toy bin for donations to be dropped off,” said Arner, who added they will be open from 4-7 p.m. Saturday. “For anyone who normally would have brought donations to the event, they just need to walk across the street and leave their donation in the box at their store.”
Arner said doing so is easy, as the business is directly across from the park where folks enjoy strolling through.
She said the box will remain there until Dec 11.
