SCHUYLKILL COURT SENTENCINGS
Schuylkill County Judge John Domalakes sentenced six people to prison terms this week:
Edwin Phillips, 24, of Gilberton: Nine to 23 months, with credit for time served from Oct. 19, 2014, through Nov. 7, 2014, and from May 30 through Sept. 23 on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. He was also sentenced to six to 23 months on a charge of corruption of minors, to be served at the same time. He was charged by Coaldale police for a Nov. 10, 2013, incident.Mark Scheitrum, 21, of Tamaqua: One to two years in state prison and to pay $6,320 in restitution to a victim and $1,830 to Foremost Insurance for a burglary on Sept. 17, 2014, in Tamaqua. Domalakes gave him credit for 93 days of time served. Charges of criminal conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief, and possessing an instrument of crime were dropped during plea negotiations. Scheitrum was charged by West Penn Township police.Jamil D. Graham, 40, of Lansford: Four to 12 months, with credit for three days he had already served for disorderly conduct on Aug. 15, 2014. Domalakes also fined Graham $500 on a charge of public drunkenness; and $25 each for careless driving and violating restrictions on alcohol. Charges of driving under the influence and endangering the welfare of children were dropped. Graham was charged by Rush Township police.Robert M. Pastucha Jr., 20, of Mahanoy City: One hundred and 23 days to 12 months, with credit for 123 days already served for resisting arrest. Charges of having a prohibited offensive weapon, disorderly conduct, and possession of drug paraphernalia were dropped. Pastucha was charged by Tamaqua police after an incident on Dec. 21, 2014.Joseph Vigna, 42, of McAdoo: two to eight years in state prison on a charges of burglary stemming from an incident on Oct. 2, 2014. Charges of criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property were dropped. He was charged by Rush township police. Vigna was also ordered to pay $1,000 in restitution to the victim. He was given credit for 25 days already served.Joel T. Vermillion, 25, of Lansford: Up to 23 months, with credit for the 62 days he had already served at the county jail and at a drug rehab facility. Vermillion was sentenced on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance on Aug. 13, 2014. Charges of possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communication facility, and possession of a controlled substance were dropped. Vermillion was charged by Tamaqua police.
