The greatest community spirit in years was shown Sunday afternoon when the Slatedale Fire Company played host to many other fire companies from Lehigh County as it dedicated a new John Bean high-pressure fog pumper truck.

At the dedication ceremony, Kenneth Boyter, company president, offered welcome remarks; John Zellner, vice president, provided a history of the company; and state Rep. Joseph Zellner and David Frantz, representing the Slatedale-Emerald Lions Club, were the guest speakers.

Fire Chief Russell Rauch, Recording Secretary Clayton Vogel and Russell P. Mack were honored with life membership awards.
