A Carbon County man pleaded guilty to a driving under the influence charge in the county court. He also admitted to a count of criminal mischief, in a separate matter.
Matthew S. Fritzinger, 25, of Lehighton, was arrested for DUI on Dec. 20, 2013, by state police at Lehighton following a traffic stop in Mahoning Township. He was given a blood test, which revealed the presence of a controlled substance.At the time of the arrest Fritzinger was in the county's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program on a criminal mischief charge. Because of the DUI arrest he was revoked from the ARD program.He pleaded guilty to the mischief count. That incident occurred on July 22, 2012, in Franklin Township. While employed at a business in the township he took the cellphone of a customer and damaged it. There is a co-defendant in the case.Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the pleas but deferred sentencing so Fritzinger can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.
