Halloween Parade

The Palmerton Halloween Parade will be held Sunday beginning at 4 p.m. The parade will be forming at Seventh Street and Delaware Avenue. The parade will go up Seventh Street to Lafayette Avenue, then turn left on Lafayette Avenue to Second Street, turn left on Second Street to Franklin Avenue, going to Third Street, turn right to Delaware Avenue, turning left and going back to Seventh Street, where the parade will disband.Parents should watch their children and not allow them to dart into the street. Those in the parade giving candy should walk along and hand it out or throw it toward the curb.Community mealA free community meal will be served on Oct. 22, from 4-6 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Everyone is invited to join in fellowship and a free meal.Craft fair and basket socialTowamensing Elementary School, 7920 Interchange Road, Route 209, will hold its 21st Annual Craft Fair and Basket Social on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a bake sale and refreshments.Craft, vendor fairTowamensing Volunteer Fire Company, 105 Firehouse Lane in Palmerton will host a craft and vendor fair Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle. Food will be available.Driver experienceBlue Mountain Quarter Midget Association is sponsoring a driver experience on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be an opportunity to try out a race car for those age 5-15. Parents or guardian should bring a copy of the driver's birth certificate and the child should wear long sleeves, pants and sneakers. All safety equipment and car is provided by the track.
