Margaret "Peggy" Hager will celebrate her 100th birthday on Wednesday.
As party of the joyous event, a family dinner will be held in her honor.Born and raised in the village of Hauto, Peggy is the daughter of the late John and Anna (Koomar) Hager.She is currently a resident at Maple Shade Meadows in Nesquehoning, where she enjoys taking naps (or resting her eyes as she puts it), getting her hair done and taking part in some of the social activities that are provided.When asked what she thought contributed to her longevity, Peggy said, "Just take each day as it comes."For 35 years of her life, Peggy lived and worked in Lebanon as a domestic engineer (housekeeper) for her brother, the late Monsignor Joseph Hager. She loved to cook, bake and give back to her church.Margaret is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Nesquehoning.Gone but not forgotten are her sisters, Catherine "Kitty," with whom she shared a room at Maple Shade; Anna; Agnes; Mary and Cecelia, along with her brothers, Joseph, John Jr., Frank and Vincent; and her nephew, Richard Jacobs.
